Villa in Prague
A 2025 project
A family villa with two independent residential units is situated on a plot at the interface between urban development and open landscape. The area is characterized by a loose structure of single-family houses, predominantly built since the 1990s, with an individual architectural expression and without a strong unifying character.
The architecture of the villa is based on principles of simplicity, functionality, and restrained aesthetics. The spatial layout takes advantage of views from the upper floors and effectively responds to the sloping terrain of the site. Both residential units have separate entrances from a shared entrance hall, which is directly connected to a garage with increased clear height. The ground-floor apartment is directly linked to the garden via terraces, while the upper-floor apartment features a roof terrace with attractive views of the surrounding landscape.
The design anticipates the use of construction systems and building components meeting passive house standards, the installation of photovoltaic panels, controlled mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and on-site rainwater harvesting. The house thus responds both to the specific characteristics of the site and to contemporary demands for high-quality, comfortable, and sustainable living.
